9/23/11 I GAVE JESUS A GLASS OF WATER
...I'm not always good about helping the homeless...& have heard the arguments that say helping them is hurting them ...but then Jesus says "if u give this person a glass of water, u give it to me" ..so I try to remember it & do it from time to time ... & I think it helps community to a certain extent... a lot of homeless people get shunned & even mistreated at times..& sometimes this leads to bigger problems... even violence & crime ... ALL of us have FREEWILL ...that homeless man "doing nothing" could be tagging your sign, could be breaking into your car, could be hurting people, BUT ISN'T ! isn't that something to REWARD from time to time. Sometimes we need to reward & compensate people for what they are NOT doing as much as for what they R doing (painting, shoveling, blowing leaves, etc).

DEALING W/ Desire, DISCIPLINE of DESIRE
good thing to hear...I often evangelize on a social website that involves animated characters..& too often some of these girls are highly "sexualized"...& make u feel stupid if u don't want to have "sex talk" or "virtual sex"..while I try to maintain an evangelical presence..sometimes I briefly get led astray by the conversation thinking I can be "playful" & still remain true to my message ...so when I heard...jack hibbs ("set desire on things of heaven..." ..."...crucify flesh daily..." ) ..it was a good reminder of the importance of integrity to our mission & message ..thank u Jack

...for those coming to 8am mass..no parking...plus street cleaning on one side means no parking on the street either..is that fair to the regular church goers who contribute tithes & offerings ? sure, the church makes "good money" from hollywood (albeit who knows what the final hollywood production will look like..could even be an anti-Christian production (think about what hollywood typically produces) ..do the st. brendan administrators inquire about the content of the production before agreeing to renting their premises ? I hope so. If not, its a sell-out ...

9/21/11 ARRIVING @ G MUSEUM FOR RANDY TRAVIS INTERVIEW
....this is about the best I can give u in terms of videos or photos (not allowed) ..but I did take a few notes (which is allowed) ..if u can figure them out..some of the names I didn't know *not a huge country fan, but came to know travis from his gospel music ..one day I heard sing "3 little crosses" at the crystal cathedral a few years ago ) ..the moderator, guy named stan who always does a good job (also did kenny rogers) talked w/him for over an hour & they played a few clips from his new album (which he made w/ several country stars) .. .here's the notes I took..w/ some ad lib, not perfectly verbatim: Intro: "he's had 3 grammy...7 dove awards ..25th anniv if breakout .. video ..stan g: .ever get tired of the applause..no.never..I've worked w unique vocalists..started guitar when I was 8 yo..as a kid I was drawn ..george jones ..best example stan:..reality in that music..did u realize at young age..? I did it first. She said "really?" ..u mention your gospel album...u had incrdble career in country..but then gospel..well-rcvd..I attended church a little as a kid ..not much..later I told wb I wantd to do a gospel..3 wooden crosses..from rise & shine..song of year ..I love doing both..q: remarkeable...remained w/ one label..a: its been good ..q: new album u did w/ jamie johnson..[clip] ..he's a great ..its tough to do ..he..he made it his property..× the clip w/ alan jackson..."better class of losers"..I noticed alan on stage..q: u mention carrie underwood ..[clip]...w/ all these artists..do u have to step up to their energy /.b/c if my advanced age..[joke]..any time w. TONY RACKAUCKAS RE KELLY's LAST WORDS ("DAD !") KNOWING HE WAS BEING KILLED ....The poor kid (Kelly) knew he was being killed by Officer Ramos ...he called out to his dad ..bloody tears well up in my eyes as I type this..completely unnecessary loss of life b/c of an officer filled w/ anger & hate..
(audio) 9/21/11 OC DA TONY RACKAUCKAS re CHARGES v OFFICER RAMOS 4 KILLING KELLY THOMAS in FULLERTON…this is a good first step..they've been talking about it all morning ..its a chilling story...& I can't help but conclude that it was partially w/ racial undertones...I've been around L.A. & OC myself long enough as a person with "no official authority" to understand how some of these officers will take out their anger & hate on people whom they believe they can do so without any repurcussions..ramos already knew who kelly thomas was...& apparently knew he had some issues but also knew kelly wasn't a danger to society, nor violent, nor armed..yet Ramos decided as he himself said to "F--k u up with my fists" ...& he even took time to methodically put on gloves ..ramos being latino..kelly being anglo (irish-american ?) ...I know the anger in some of these cops if you exhibit even a tiny hint of an "attitude" toward them....& ramos proceeded to literally beat kelly to death...along w/ a few other officers..& of course his radio call for help..added fuel to the fire...anytime a cop has a person down..they're going to also be attempting to "justify" the use of force by adding words to the audio-recording such as "stop resisting" even when there is absolutely NO RESISTANCE..they've been trained or taught eachother informally to add this dialogue so that whatever may be caught on video tape or on their own audio tape makes it look & sound as if the person is continuing to fight & resist..so that further force is justified...yet at some point obviously Kelly must have gone limp...because he was dead..how much longer did Ramos et. al continue to beat Kelly (tony says they used tazers and tazer darts as well..see next audio)..and ALL these cops for one person who was unarmed ?! and the beating continues? its outrageous..mark geragos the famous defense attorney spoke earlier on the show & he spoke candidly when he said he was still surprised that the DA is pressing charges ..& will be all the more surprised if an OC jruy convicts (OC having a reputation, of course, for pro-police & "law & order" despite some of the corruption in OC sheriff's dept of years gone by) ..geragos said that the defense will do everything they can to paint a picture of Kelly as a bad person who resisted & who got what was coming because he was disobedient to the cop .. I wonder if frank pastore is going to do a show about this today .. this is insane ...& all the more insane if the officer isn't convicted ..yet in OC there won't be a riot as we saw in the rodney king case...unless some of the OC folk show some backbone & make a stand .. My heart goes out to Kelly's father .. I remember being accosted by a latino officer in the city of orange after an angels game..not physically but it could have been if I didn't do the "yes sir, no sir" routine..and if an anglo officer wasn't with him (not to say same-race cops are always better to same-race citizens but its generally more likely...& unfortunately onve a cop starts something, all the other cops are bound to support him,,,so u will have cops of all race & skin colors suddenly on one bad cops side..& it just escalates from there...) as geragos mentioned..usually without video tape or extremely strong witnesses & evidence the DA will try to whitewash it on the cops behalf...Tony Rackauckas took a stand in this cse...God bless him..I hope he sees it all the way thru to a legitimate end..
