"LOS ANGELES – Police in the heart of Hollywood have shot and killed a gunman who fired at cars and shouted "kill me" and "I'm gonna die!" Authorities say the man was shot after wounding a passing driver. A witness tells a TV station (KABC) that the gunman eventually ran out of bullets and pulled a knife before a policeman opened fire The witness says he saw the gunman walking down the middle of Vine Street near Sunset Boulevard, firing at least nine shots into the air and at passing cars. He says, "People were running all over." Another man tells a TV station (KCAL) that he was in his car when the gunman ran over and put the gun right up to his window.
