12/23/11 ...12/23/11 LEAVING NBC TONIGHT SHOW , TERRY BRADSHAW, BAILEE MADISON, CHRIS ISAAC ..... Quick recap from tonight show, last show before christmas, ..guests were terry bradshaw (former steelers qb for you young ones) and bailey madison (maybe you young ones know more about her than I do) ...I was met at the ticket gate by Joey from illinois
..had a counter ticket..no problems getting one at the last moment..I have today's la times with me..browsing as we wait for the line to progress..I have #291 (card they give you as u enter..to stay in numerical order) almost last ...jump ahead to the monologue ..a few political jokes (funniest one I can remember is a video joke re obama standing in front of congress. Saying he doesn't go on vacation until they work things out...suddenly the screen behind him accidentall falls revealing he's already in hawaii...ha ) ..then came jay-walking with jay at the "americana" in glendale asking people to sing christmas carols..kind of funny, one guy sang "o come all ye faithful' partially in latin .., then 1st guest was terry bradshaw...he's a funny guy, and every now & then he shows a little bit of red-neck humor (not the offensive kind, but just the "aw shucks" kind of thing)..and he was stealing the show from jay for a while..not letting jay get in a word edgewise, ...even mocking jay a few times (terry lost weight & is sponsoring a diet company called nutrisystem, says jay needs to lose even more than him; later terry asked jay if he even knows how many teams are in the nfl..which jay doesn't..jay doesn't watch football, & said to terry "call me if you need your car fixed" ..and terry went on & on...saying something to somebody in the camera...not sure what that was all about..I wanted to hear terry talk about the old steeler days, but they never got into it (that's why I came to the show today)..bradshaw did predict the packers would meet the steelers in the superbowl IF roeth (steelers qb) stays healthy .oh, also, terry kept telling Jay to "STOP TOUCHING ME!" ...b/c everytime Jay would try to get a question in, he would reach over & poke bradshaw to get his attention (as he was doing his own monologue),..and ..what I noticed OFF-CAMERA during the break was interesting..the 2 of them didn't talk at all..none of the friendly banter u normally see jay having with his guests during the break...in fact, bradshaw stood up and walked around a little bit during the break, ..and when he sat back down he was engaged in conversation with the associates who hover around actually or pretending to whisper something important in the ear of jay or a guest ...and it seemed like he was concerned about something (about what? Jay poking him?), ...I noticed there were no more of the pokes by jay after that first breeak, ..also terry told a joke about an onion & a donkey...and jay guessed it ..terry also said there would be free nutrisystem samples outside as we leave (that was nice,diet cookies that tasted good; by the way, the tonight show also laid out christmas cookies for us as we arrived..also nice of them..a gingerbread cookie with red sprinkles o...n it) ..next guest was bailey madison...oops I just googled her name and its spelled "bailee"..let's see what eelse I can find out about bailee after the show..glance at wikipedia and I findthis "... Her elder sister, Kaitlin Riley, is also an..." ..and bailee talked about different things, including her teeth..they showed apic of her last time on the show missing teeth (she's only 12)..and she's been preserving 2 teeth to pull out immediately after the show which she plans to put under her pillow on christmas eve so that the tooth fairy and santa claus will bump into eachother..funny..and she told a story re her dog..that they thought may have accidentally drank alcohol (which bailee thought was water), ..but the dog was ok...across fromme apparently was a friend of family member of bailee who waved at her when she came on...meanwhile terry was still in his seat and a few times asked bailee a question...then came the specil music guest, chris isaac..he played "blue christmas", and then there were a few promos at the end...I noticed bradshaw and lenoo weren't hamming it up at all during the bbreak and at the end leno joked "make sure pick up one of terry's free cardboard sandwiches as you leave" ..apparently no love lost between the two of them ..as I leave the studio there's some bradshaw fans hanging by the driveway to get his autograph...that's all folks !
