hey, I got a ticket at thelast minute to the tonight show w/ special guest President Barack Obama, taped at 10am instead of the usual afternoon taping ..and Obama was smiling & waving, & Leno covered a wide range of topics in his questions..from withdrawal from iraq. to the death of khadaffi (leno also made a joke about the spelling of khadaffi's name), to obama's visit to roscoes (a local restaurant..obama said the chicken was great) ..to the economy & the protestors(obamasaid peiiple need to know that if they give a fair share (of work) they will get a fair shake) ..also about the republican debates ..obama said he's waiting for a few people to get "knocked off the island" until its narrowd down to a few he can concentrate upon ..also about the family..obama said the girls are doing well..growing up fast, ..that they are very kind..that. they aren't allowed to watch tv during the week...oonly on weekends..so leno asked why they can't watch the kardashians..obama seemed surprised by the question..stammered a little & said "Maybe I'm a little biased againsr reality TV..There's this reality show called "congress" ...ha ha..& asked Jay if he recommended it..to which Jay stammered...and said something which I don't remember (I'm not not taking notes during the show, just recall from my head...& no pics inside either)...they talked a bit about hilary clinton & joe biden (obama said they "rack up the miles" between them) & Leno asked if they might trade places next election & obama seemed doubtful ...after obama left, world famous cellist Yo-Yo-Ma played. accompanied by some others. ...the show will be on tonight (I assume, albeit they are also taping a show this afternoon, so I don't know whenthat will air) ..it was a drizzly morning...this is the 2nd time I've seen a president on the tonght show (first time was Bush) ..secret service presence was obvious but not overbearing or intrusive ..they took a small bottle of cheap cologne I often have in my jacket ...it was obviously a mostly democratic party crowd, probably mostly African-American (Obama's recent chiding of blacks in general didn't seem to hurt his popularity)...I hope blacks don't vote for obama just because he's black ..I hope they truly vote for issues they car about..I myself am republican, & Actually, I myself am a presidential candidate (registered with the FEC) BUT you probably won't see or hear from me in the debate (why not? I'm not sure, but I haven't been invited for some reason.. is this still America ?) ..my personal feelings about obama are that he seemed polished & well-spoken,..he seems genuine..but I disagree with his position on abortion (he's pro-choice, I'm pro-life) & disagree with non-traditional marriage (I believe marriage was meant for one man & one woman) ..I DO, however, like, in theory, his attempt to give more people access to medical coverage...whether it works out practically remains to be seen (without us becoming like canada in terms of high taxes) ..obama also mentioned that he quit smoking..that he works ou every day with michelle, ..but that she's in better shape than him ...he says she also likes pizza and other foods that we often call "junk food" but just not every day...he says he told michelle that if she keeps handing out onlyu fruit at halloween, the whitehouse might get egged ....adding maybe "reeses pieces" would be good ...also they gave free donuts & juice at the end of the show..we were out by 11;30 am.. I will post more as I remember it .
