8/3/11 THIS GUY WANTED TO SELL ME HIS CAR.....I was about to give him a deposit..then he turned to me & wanted to add "non-refundable" to it..which I thought was understood...I intended to come back for it..wasn't going to put down $200 & not return..what was his point ? he kept acting distrustful...yet he was the one w/ my money (or would have been, but I changed my mind at the last moment) ...I think it was "posturing"...the way many immigrants do...they act distrustful of their american hosts..its their little game..nonetheless insulting..& in los angeles..since minorities are the majority its all too common...be it the woman in church w/ her purse,..or somebody simply walking..they can simply play the "master of suspicion" game & feel superior....I had the deposit...was ready to go ahead w/ it..told him I would be back probably the next day or two days but explained to him it depended on a check clearing...& said just in case how about Saturday at the latest...& he said no..but that wasn't the reason I changed my mind..it finally came down to the last minute realization that the cigarette lighter doesn't work without the engine on or in the on position...meaning charging stuff with the car off would be impossible..I don't know if there's a way to work around that or not but didn't want to take the chance..I do so much w/ the charger in the car while it is off (laptop, cellphone, cd duplicator, etc)
