...every now & then people think my last name is a euphemism for a "dirty word". I've even had my last name rejected as a "user name" on a few social websites because it has an automatic detection syste form rejecting all "bad words" (or "naughty" words), along with all possible alternaive spellings ..and then there are those who, of course, as juveniles, mocked my name as "cock" (for those who don't know "cock" is a euphemism for the male sexual organ). ...but just to let u know FYI, Kok is a common Dutch name in the Netherlands like Smith in America ... like a lot. of .Dutch names..it has a symbolic significance..it simply means "cook"..meaning somebody in my ancestory was a cook of some sort (I.e. somebody who cooks food) ..happens that "Kok" is also an Asian name..so later in life, after leaving my small dutch community of grand rapids (mi) where everybody knew the name Kok and didn't have a problem with it, I added Vander to let my people my heritage (most people Vander is a Dutch prefix) ..
