u always think of southcentral L.A. As the area with serious murder & crime problems, but I'm surprised how much happens in the foothill cities such as pasadena, monrovia, duarte, etc ...when I came to Fuller Seminary in 1998 I thought Pasadena was such an idyllic area, most of my impressions coming from watching the Rose Parade on TV Growing up (& attending a few times), but as I got to know the area I found out that was "more than meets the eye" & I wondered why ? and one reason dawned on me..there are some "leaders" in the area who are actually trying to falsely re-write history (their own version) and are empowering bad people to think they can do likewise ..anytime you think u can simply re-write history (I.e. pretend the holocaust never happened, for example) and convince yourself its true, the inevitable result is a CLASH with somebody who knows the actual truth And refuses to budge ...The untruth teller then feels compelled to FORCE his or her version on the truth teller, sometimes ending up in actual murder ..there are even "officials" who are telling these UNTRUTHS which then get handed down to the police..and so sometimes u even have police believing untruths and feeling compelled to enforce these untruths..but when police kill, its usually , almost always, called self-defense, ...but its not just police being fed untruths by city officials, its people on the street, its the usual suspects, including those doing drugs, caught in addiction, etc ...you cannot ignore truth or pretend you are above it or that your version of history is all that matters, ...
