SAYING LORD's PRAYER @ INDIAN POW WOW, UCLA, EASTER 2011

...after several beautiful waster services...I was driving around beverly hills and saw these tents at ucla...I'm familiar with the campus having been a chaplain intern here at the medical center during my seminary days....so I cruised thru campus and saw a sign saying pow wow ..and pulled in.. indians have always fascinated me...they're such an important part of american heritage and have a lot to share with us and teach us,..yes even us Christians can learn from the native-Americans..we may know the way to salvation but we can learn from other cultures about other things, including respect for the earth, respect for others, all of which should be part of the church life, but isn't always integrated so well into daily life...indians have a lot of respect for other people..they are. a gentle people and we must hope for the preservation of their noble heritage..and at the same time share with them the Good News of Jesus Christ...
